Mount Horeb Police: Child taken to hospital after being hit by vehicle

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A child was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle Thursday afternoon, the Mount Horeb Police Department reported.

According to a Facebook post by the city’s police department, officers responded around 4:45 p.m. to the 300 block of East Main Street on reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.

The child was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to be OK.

Based on the initial investigation, officials said the pedestrian attempted to cross the street outside of the crosswalk and was hit by the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle did stay on scene, officials noted.
