UFC 316 live updates: Results, round-by-round coverage of every fight

UFC 316 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) takes place Saturday, and you can join us for live round-by-round coverage and official results beginning at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT). UFC 316 takes place at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

In the headliner, bantamweight champion champion Merab Dvalishvili (19-4 MMA, 12-2 UFC) takes on challenger and ex-champ Sean O'Malley (18-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) in a rematch. In the co-feature, women's bantamweight titleholder Julianna Peña (13-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) meets Kayla Harrison (18-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC), a two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time PFL $1 million champion who is one of the biggest title challenger betting favorites in UFC history.

In addition, former Bellator bantamweight champion Patchy Mix (20-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his highly anticipated UFC debut after freeing himself from the PFL when he takes on Mario Bautista (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC).

Andreas Gustafsson vs. Khaos Williams

Round 1 – This one is off to a hot start with Gustafsson darting across the cage swinging hooks! Williams immediately fires back, too. Now they clinch up, wrestling for position against the fence. They stall out and get separated by the ref. Gustafsson starts marching forward again with big looping punches. They exchange for a moment before another clinch, but this time they work to separate on their own. Gustafsson keeps coming forward. Big left hook lands. Williams circles as he counters. Gustafsson gets hold of Williams to clinch. The boo birds are chirping, even though there's some short punches and knees to the body here. One minute to go. Gustafsson with a hard right elbow. The clinch battle continues until the horn.

Round 2 – Gustafsson comes out swinging again as he puts heavy forward pressure on Williams. They end up in the clinch again against the cage. They separate, exchange a few punches, including some clean ones from Gustafsson. Back to the clinch battle now. This time they separate quickly. Gustafsson lands a couple of hard punches in the center. He's still marching forward, giving Williams no room to breathe. There's a takedown for Gustafsson. Williams gets to his feet, but is returned to the mat. Hard elbow from Gustafsson on the ground opens a cut. Williams is back up, but Gustafsson is still attached to the hips and drags him down again. Williams is up again, but can't get Gustafsson off him. Gustafsson is just mauling him in the clinch.

Round 3 - Gustafsson gets right back in the grill of Williams, pushing him into the fence. There's a nice short elbow from Gustafsson. This is turning into a bloody mess, and it's all coming from Williams. The fans don't love the clinch battle, but Gustafsson is effective. Williams attempts to get some punches in a brief separation, but he can't stay away from the fence or Gustafsson's clinch. Midway through the round now. Gustafsson snaps Williams down, but he pops back up. Another takedown for Gustafsson. Now he's adding heavy ground and pound! Big shots here! Williams manages to scramble back to his feet. Gustafsson is still on him and brings him back down. One minute left and Williams is back up. More big punches from Gustafsson. Knees to the thighs and head now. Williams is down to a knee. More punches until the final horn.

Cong with a right hand of her own! da Silva catches a kick and answers back with a knee to the body. A couple of leg kicks land for Cong. Two minutes left. Very evenly matched so far. More leg kicks from Cong. da Silva shoots, Cong stuffs it, and connects on the break. da Silva's leg is showing damage. Oh! Nasty leg kick from Cong has da Silva wobbly. Nice connection by Cong! Cong is now taking over! More nasty leg kicks and then a right hand by Cong. The bell rings.

Round 2 – Cong pressing the action here. She's confident. da Silva with a solid left! She closes the distance and presses Cong. Cong immediately breaks free. Oh! Nasty leg kick by Cong! da Silva switches her stance in response to the damage OF the leg kicks. Cong now witha right to the body. da Silva with a nice connection! Righthand lands for Cong. We're halfway through the round. Jab then leg kick by Cong. Man, nasty leg kick game by Cong. da Silva is in massive pain, but fighting through it. Jabs by Cong. Quick jabs connect for Cong. What a heart shown by da Silva who keeps looking for the finish. Oh! A leg kick drops da Silva! Cong lets her back up. The bell rings.

Round 3 - Cong comes out very agressive here, likely sensing the finish. Oh! Nasty left hook by Cong. Solid chin on da Silva. da Silva is now pressing and swining big shots. Yanal Ashmouz vs. Quillan Salkilld

Round 1 – Ashmouz comes out swinging heavy! He presses Salkilld against the cage. Salkilld reverses the position and gets Ashmouz against the cage. Short shots here and there by Salkilld. Ashmouz reverses and now he's doing the pressing. Salkilld breaks free and they go back to striking. Oh! Uppercut, then a clean combo by Salkilld! Salkilld presses Ashmouz against the cage. Two minutes left. Salkilld picks up Ashmouz and slams him on the ground! Solid control here by Salkilld. Salkilld takes the back of Ashmouz. Ashmouz reeverses and ends on top! Twenty seconds left. Salkilld gets up. Nice shot by Ashmouz! The bell rings.

Round 2 – Big swings and then a hard leg kick by Ashmouz! Salkilld closes the distance and takes down Ashmouz with ease. Salkilld all over Ashmouz here. Round 1 – Mederos putting the pressure early on Choinski. Nice combo by Mederos catches the attention of Choinski. Oh! Knee to the head by Mederos! Solis chin on Choinski. Mederos is getting his way here on the feet. Choinski closes the distance, shoots, spins around the back and gets Mederos' back. We're halfway through the round. Choinski going for the rear naked choke! Mederos defends well and gets out. They go back striking. Nasty leg kicks by Mederos. Choinski looks a bit wobbly in his base. Final minute. More leg kicks by Mederos. Choinski with a one, two. Clean jab by Mederos! The round comes to an end.
