Anambra prepares for flood emergencies, intensifies sensitisation campaigns

The Anambra State Government has expressed its preparedness to respond effectively to any flood related emergency by taking precautionary measures across the state to avert any disaster. The Commissioner for Environment, Dr Felix Odimegwu, made this known in an interview with journalists in Awka, on Saturday, adding that the ministry in collaboration with relevant agencies, has intensify the sensitisation of the people to this year’s rainfall and likely flooding. This is coming ahead of the three-day rainy weather conditions predicted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency starting from Saturday to Monday across Nigeria. Flood: Kano Govt flags off clearance of sensitive areas ahead of rainy season

As the rainy season approaches, the Kano State Government has launched a major flood prevention campaign with the flag-off of its annual drainage clearance exercise at the flood-prone Baban Gwari Roundabout in Kano metropolis. What was supposed to be a happy and festive day for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans in the city turned out to be a complete horror show after a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium claimed 11 lives and left 33 injured. RCB's maiden IPL title win celebrations were marred by the unfortunate incident. Several are questioning the need for having such a big event within 18 hours after winning the tournament. MAKKAH, – Jemaah haji Indonesia diprediksi akan menghadapi tantangan cuaca ekstrem saat menjalani puncak ibadah haji di Arafah, Muzdalifah, dan Mina (Armuzna). Kementerian Agama sebelumnya mengatakan suhu udara di Arab Saudi saat puncak haji 2025 bisa menembus 50 derajat Celsius. Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) pun mengingatkan akan bahaya serangan panas atau heat stroke yang mengintai jemaah. Menurut Kepala Pusat Kesehatan Haji Liliek Marhaendro Susilo, heat stroke merupakan kondisi kegawatdaruratan medis yang terjadi ketika tubuh tidak mampu lagi mengontrol suhunya akibat paparan panas berlebihan. Identitas Lengkap 17 Korban Tewas Longsor Tambang Gunung Kuda,Tim SAR Temukan 3 Jasad Lagi

Berikut ini adalah update hari kedua Tim SAR Gabungan mencari korban longsor di tambang batu galian C Gunung Kuda, Desa Cipanas, Kecamatan Dukupuntang, Kabupaten Cirebon, Jawa Barat pada Sabtu (31/5/2025). Seperti diketahui, longsor yang terjadi di Gunung Kuda mengakibatkan 17 orang meninggal dunia. Kepala Kantor SAR Bandung selaku SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) Ade Dian Permana, mengakui bahwa tim gabungan menemukan tiga korban yang tertimbun. Ade Dian juga menjelaskan bahwa Tim SAR Gabungan mengerahkan dua excavator pada hari kedua pencarian korban longsong Gunung Kuda. "Di worksite A tim SAR gabungan melakukan pencarian menggunakan tiga excavator. Worksite B tidak hanya melakukan pencarian menggunakan tiga excavator tetapi juga pembersihan material longsor menggunakan dua unit wheel loader," kata Ade dalam keterangan tertulis pada Sabtu (31/5/2025) malam.
