Derrick Henry Could Get In An Adam Sandler Movie With Historic Season

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry has some unexpected motivation for the upcoming 2025 season.
What started as a casual conversation about Hollywood connections quickly transformed into a unique challenge that could make NFL history.
On “The Dan Patrick Show,” Henry expressed his admiration for actor Adam Sandler, who happens to be a friend of the broadcaster.
Patrick then proposed an intriguing wager that caught Henry’s attention: If Henry has 2,000 yards rushing this season, Patrick will get him a role in a Sandler movie.
“Cool, say no more. Remember that now,” Henry responded. “Say no more. The bet is on. No pressure at all.”
The stakes became even more interesting when Sandler himself confirmed the arrangement.
“2,000-yards-plus this year gets you not only in the movie, but we have a nice dinner together,” Sandler said in a video.
Henry faces an opportunity to rewrite NFL history. Should he gain 2,000 rushing yards, he would become the first player to accomplish the feat twice.
Nine players have reached the threshold once, including Saquon Barkley last season, but no one has managed to repeat the achievement.
The Ravens star possesses the talent to dominate, particularly within Baltimore’s offensive system.
However, durability remains the critical factor. Henry gained 2,027 yards in 2020 with the Tennessee Titans but dealt with injuries the following season, appearing in eight games and finishing with 937 rushing yards.
Last season, his debut in Baltimore showcased his elite abilities, as he rushed for 1,921 yards on 325 carries while averaging 5.9 yards per attempt.
He also led the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns, proving his continued excellence at the highest level.
