Cadillac is recalling over 40,000 Lyriqs with displays that can go blank. The 2023 and 2024 models will receive updated software to address the issue. Nissan’s N7 EV secures over 17,000 Chinese orders within its first month on sale. Prices for the N7 start at roughly $16,600 offering up to 317 miles of range. The electric sedan has a typical Chinese EV interior with a large infotainment screen. While the Nissan Ariya is a decent electric SUV, its sales haven’t exactly taken off the way the brand probably hoped. The Leaf, meanwhile, is well past its expiration date, though a successor is coming soon. Over in China, however, Nissan has launched an EV that’s actually generating real demand. The Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force is investigating a Galveston autobody shop and car lot. Ventura Auto Sales is located at Broadway near 35th Street and is still open for business. The Galveston County Sheriff told ABC13 the task force, which encompasses Galveston and Brazoria and pulls officers and deputies from multiple agencies, does random inspections at shops across the two counties. This was one of the random inspections, and while the task force was looking through the business, the sheriff said they found a truck parked towards the back of the car lot, and inside the truck bed and cabin were 90 catalytic converters. The numbers and their placement were suspicious, according to law enforcement. On top of the odd location, the sheriff said the converters weren't in compliance, which means the company didn't have paperwork showing which cars they had come from or were going to. The NASCAR Cup Series will race in Mexico City next weekend, the first points paying race on international soil, which requires an intense logistical process considering they're practically racing just south of Canada this weekend. That race should end somewhere around 5 p.m. but the Mexico race cars will already be en route to the southern border according to NASCAR's vice president of racing operations Tom Bryant, a former Army Ranger who specializes in logistics. "Sunday night in Michigan, the Cup Series teams will swap out their race cars that morning before the garage opens," said Bryant on NASCAR's Hauler Talk podcast this week. "They'll go ahead and get their Mexico cars in, take them off the secondary hauler and load them into the main hauler that is going to Mexico… But then, after the green flag, those drivers will immediately begin getting that hauler ready to pull out, as soon as the race is over ....

The 22-year-old known as the " Belltown Hellcat " driver was found guilty of two counts of reckless driving in Seattle Municipal Court on June 5. A jury found Miles Hudson guilty of reckless driving by operating a motor vehicle with willful or wanton disregard for safety of others or property, and reckless driving by racing a vehicle on a public street. His sentencing is July 7. The Seattle City Attorney's office said Hudson was captured on video performing high-speed stunts and reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour on downtown streets with his modified Dodge Charger.
