Iran-Israel war disrupts Pakistan's flight operations, 16 flights cancelled

Pakistan, June 16 -- Due to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, Pakistan's flight operations are facing major disruptions. The regional conflict is affecting air travel not only within the Middle East but also in Pakistan, where authorities have cancelled several international flights.

According to aviation officials, flights from Pakistan to several destinations including Jeddah, Mashhad, Baghdad, and Tehran have been affected. Karachi alone saw the cancellation of 8 major flights, with a total of 16 flights being called off across the country.

Additionally, flights from Islamabad to Najaf operated by a foreign airline were also cancelled due to Iran's airspace closure. Flights arriving from Gulf countries like Jeddah, Dubai, Bahrain, and Ras Al Khaimah are experiencing delays ranging from one to five hours.

These disruptions are the direct result of Iran closing its airspace following a series of deadly Israeli strikes. The closure has impacted air routes that typically cross Iranian territory, forcing many airlines to reroute or cancel their services.

This crisis began after Israel launched airstrikes on June 12 targeting Iran's military and nuclear infrastructure. The attacks killed top Iranian commanders, scientists, and civilians, triggering regional instability that is now spilling into civilian air travel.
