Urgent 'do not eat' warning issued for popular sweets due to cancer fears

Those who've already eaten them should not panic, watchdog the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned, as the risk is low, but urged customers to disposed of them. These include Hard Candy, 'Misfits' Gummies, Hard Candy Fruity 2 in 1, and Berry Gummies, all made by Hershey. The sweets were found to contain the harmful chemicals Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH) and Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbon (MOSH). These chemicals, derived from crude oil, have been linked to serious illnesses including cancer, particularly in the liver and lymph nodes. FG orders probe of alleged neglect of accident victims at FMC Abuja

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako has directed a full investigation into the alleged neglect of accident victims at the emergency unit of the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Jabi, Abuja. In a video that trended on social media at the weekend, someone was heard lamenting that he rushed some accidents victims he saw at the road to the facility but that the staff were slow in attending to them. The video showed arguments between the good Samaritan and some staff of the hospital one of whom talked about the unavailability of gloves. Mount Horeb Police: Child taken to hospital after being hit by vehicle

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A child was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle Thursday afternoon, the Mount Horeb Police Department reported. According to a Facebook post by the city’s police department, officers responded around 4:45 p.m. to the 300 block of East Main Street on reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian. The child was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to be OK. Based on the initial investigation, officials said the pedestrian attempted to cross the street outside of the crosswalk and was hit by the vehicle. Ford is recalling 492,145 Explorers because of an issue that may cause the B-pillar trim to fly off while driving. The recall applies to certain Explorers from the 2016 to 2017 model years. According to recall documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Ford is still working on a remedy for the recall. Ford issued a recall for 492,145 vehicles with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) because of an issue that may cause the B-pillar trim to fly off while driving. According to NHTSA documents, the recall covers certain Explorers from the 2016 to 2017 model years. Recall documents show that Ford's team reviewed plant records to determine the production timeline. The affected models entered production in June 2015, with improvements made to the production line in April 2017. LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Laredo Police and the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDOT) are offering safety tips for drivers and pedestrians following the death of a man who was struck by a car while crossing the street. The male victim was reportedly struck by a car in South Laredo around 3 a.m. on Thursday, June 5. A woman, who preferred to remain anonymous, was on her way to work and reported seeing several police cars in the northbound lane of the highway, still investigating the cause of the accident hours later. She stated, “Later on through the day, I found out that there was a tragic death.” According to the Laredo Police Department, an 18-year-old driving a black Kia Optima allegedly struck a man attempting to cross the street. “In this particular case, the victim was taken to the hospital, where he unfortunately and tragically died after he arrived at the hospital as a result of his injuries,” said Joe Baeza with Laredo Police. Colorado State Patrol says trucker's brakes failed, causing I-70 crash that hurt 5 people

Colorado police have determined how a crash unfolded Wednesday that shut down I-70 for several hours and left multiple people injured. According to CSP, a Freightliner semi-truck with a trailer, driven by Leon Gamble of Texas, lost its brakes near the Eisenhower Tunnel while driving west along the interstate. The front of the truck crashed into the back of another Freightliner truck, and both vehicles veered off the left side of the road. Authorities said the second truck rolled over and came to rest in the median on its passenger side. The trailer of the first truck struck a Toyota Rav4 heading east, and then reportedly came to a stop against a Toyota Tacoma. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment. Part of Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa was shut down Thursday evening after police say a driver claimed to have "an explosive device" in the car. Just after 6:30 p.m., officers with the Tampa Police Department responded to reports of an unconscious driver behind the wheel that was blocking traffic on the southbound lanes of Dale Mabry Hwy and Columbus Drive. After arriving, TPD said the driver did not comply with officers' commands and claimed there was explosive device in the car. In an abundance of caution, police say they shut down southbound traffic on the highway between Columbus Drive and Tampa Bay Boulevard. As of 8:00 p.m., traffic remains shut down, but authorities say it is expected to be open soon. No officers were injured. Police say the suspect was taken into custody. An investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE Greece, N.Y. — Police say Jimmie Wraggs has been found safe. __________ Police are asking for help locating a missing man. Jimmie Wraggs, 79, of Greece, was last seen around 8 a.m. Monday. Police said he was recently diagnosed with dementia, so he may be confused or disoriented. Wraggs is described as 6-foot-1 and 176 pounds with short hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a baseball hat, and likely is using a walker, according to police.
